I am pleased you are viewing Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical’s Systems Portfolio, a product of our accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission.  This living document validates the dedication of our employees and other stakeholders who are engaged developing a thriving culture of continuous improvement.

 

The college’s first foray into a formal continuous improvement model was in 2003, when Southeast Tech was accepted into the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP).  While we have not taken a straight path, it has allowed this college community to learn, improve and begin to develop a systematic approach to planning, data collection and analysis, and data-based decision making; all directly impacting student learning and college viability.

 

In 2004, college staff, faculty and administration were involved in a comprehensive, facilitated conversation to openly discuss the college’s future and the impending decisions needed to create a learning environment that ensures student and college success.  An outgrowth of this discussion was a vision and direction for the college’s Institutional Effectiveness committee as a driver in process improvement.  This broad based committee will be key to our developing a viable continuous improvement culture.

 

As you explore our college through this portfolio, the evidence will show that Southeast Tech is achieving its core mission of education for employment at a very high level.  Our future challenges will be to build upon our successes and learn from our mistakes using continuous improvement concepts and practices.  This systems portfolio will be critical in shaping annual work plans and moving the college’s strategic plan forward in pursuit of our mission, vision, and values.    Thank you for taking the time to review our Systems Portfolio.
